ONE WEEK TO GO !

the DVD consists of 2 discs.

Disc One:

Audio Commentary with Director Adam Shankman and Nikki Blonsky

Like watching the film with two of your closest friends! The giggly twosome recall all the hilarious moments of filming.

Who’s acne was CG’d out?; How powerful is “Super Edna?”; and What article of clothing did Nikki take from the set?

Audio Commentary with Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron

As a Hairspray fan, we owe so much to these men for bringing this musical to the big screen. It is a delight to listen to their infinite knowledge of the film process. The two provide insight in to every aspect of Hairspray, including script development, casting, cinematography, music, filming, etc.

Hairspray Extensions:
•Nicest Kids In Town

•(The Legend of) Miss Baltimore Crabs
•Ladies Choice
•Welcome To The 60’s
•Run & Tell That
•You Can’t Stop The Beat

These wonderful multi-view music videos provide a glimpse in to the development of Hairspray’s musical numbers; cleverly edited and a blast to watch. In one instance, the left side of the screen shows the leads first rehearsal with the council in “The Nicest Kids In Town”; in the upper right panel - song rehearsal; and on the bottom - an alternate camera angle from filming. (To view a sneak peek in to “Hairspray Extensions” visit Amazon’s “Shake and Shimmy” DVD page.)

The multiple angles allow you to see infinitely more of Adam’s brilliant choreography. A steady shot of Edna and Tracy’s dance break during “Welcome To The 60’s” is a real treat.

Zac and Nikki fans will enjoy “You Can’t Stop The Beat,” where the duo explain ‘the 3 steps to a big finale kiss.’

Step by Step : The Dances Of Hairspray

Associate choreographers Zach Woodle & Jamal Sims, along with dancers Ariel Read & Nick Baga break down Adam Shankman’s choreography for “Ladies Choice” and The Detention Boogie: “Peyton Place After Midnight.”

Jump to a Song with Optional Sing Along Lyric Track:

This feature will play every musical number back to back; and with optional lyric track, you and friends can singalong - perfect for a Hairspray-themed party!

InterActual Features PC/DVDROM:

When you load the disc in to your PC, it will prompt you to download “InterActual Player.” This optional player will allow you to access even more features. The movie will play alongside the film script, and a search feature allows you to type in any word from the film and automatically jump to that scene. For example, type: “CinemaScope” and the player will take you to, “This show isn’t broadcast in CinemaScope,” from “Miss Baltimore Crabs.”

To the right of these features are hundreds of never-before-seen production images, corresponding with the films sequences.

Disc Two:

Deleted Scenes/Alternate Takes

•Tracy’s never-before seen musical number, “I Can Wait”
•Edna Gets Arrested
•Welcome to the 60s- Alternate Street Segment
•You Can’t Stop The Beat – Alternate version
•Big, Blonde, and Beautiful (Reprise – Velma Only Version)Deleted Scenes Commentary with Director Adam Shankman and Nikki Blonsky

“You Can’t Stop The Beat: The Long Journey of Hairspray”

The core of Hairspray’s special features. The 8 part documentary explores the return of Hairspray, casting, music, choreography, costumes, hairdos, production design, and film reflections.

The documentary takes you from the producers concept for a film adaptation to the July 10, 2007 Premiere in Los Angeles. Chock full of interviews, recording session footage, behind the scenes footage of dance rehearsals, fun moments and much, much, MUCH more.

It’s evident by how the cast and crew speak, on just how passionate they are about this project.
I can’t wait for everyone to watch Hairspray on DVD. It’s wonderful to know we can now watch this movie whenever we want.

Hairspray hits stores Tuesday, November 20!
